Men Atlas Map

1Support of men. This branch contains direct support that benefits men or boys themselves — counselling, coaching, therapy, retreats, workshops, and other services — plus indirect support through advocacy and campaigns.

2Avoidance of harm by men. This branch contains prevention with potential perpetrators, work intended to prevent repeat perpetration, gender-sensitive education, and related advocacy. The entire branch is disabled by default.

3Advocacy and campaigns. This activity may occur in either branch. Its placement follows the organization’s main focus: supporting men, or avoiding harm by men.

4Primary organisational focus. Organizations with a documented behavioral-change program are assigned to “Avoidance of harm by men”, even if they also provide counselling. This prevents them from appearing in the default view.

5Topics. Topics describe the subjects an organization works on independently of its organisational focus. Selecting several topics uses an inclusive “or” search.

6“People affected”. The entry addresses men or boys who have experienced violence. Programs for people using violence are placed under avoidance of harm. An organization may provide both.

7“Documented”. The statement is explicitly supported by a website or another public source. Quote, source, and review date appear in the entry. If evidence is absent, the atlas shows “unclear”, not “no”.

8Access. Voluntary means that the service can be used without a mandatory referral or order. Some services may also accept referrals.

9Worldview. “Secular” includes organizations that describe themselves as secular and organizations whose public presentation contains no religious reference. “Religious — Christian” and “Religious — other” are used where a religious orientation is identifiable.

10Location precision. When “Precise location known” is selected, the map shows only organizations whose location is known to at least postcode level. When it is not selected, organizations with less precise location data are included as well. Their markers are placed at an approximate point within the known city; if no city is known, a marker may be placed in the relevant capital. These positions are intentionally approximate and must not be interpreted as street addresses.
